Terms and Conditions
Upon payment of deposit, all bookings are subject to the following provisions set forth herein and by which the passengers agree to be bound.
SHIP OPERATOR: The m/s Monet is owned and operated by Elegant Cruise Line Limited. Elegant Cruises & Tours Inc., Port Washington, New York, U.S.A. is the worldwide general sales agent for both vessels.
RESERVATIONS & PAYMENT: A deposit of $500 per person for 8-day/7-night cruises and $750 per person for all longer cruises is required to confirm your reservation. All prices are in U.S. dollars, payable to Elegant Cruises & Tours, Inc. (ECT). No other currencies will be accepted. Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure. Deposit and final payment may be made by check, money order or wire transfer.
RATE INFORMATION: All rates are $U.S., per person based on double occupancy, except single cabins as indicated. No triple occupancy aboard Monet. Single supplement in cabin other than designated single cabins: 50% for Monet categories B-D, 100% for Monet categories A through Flower Suite.
RATES: Rates include all normal shipboard services and facilities. Daily food service includes buffet breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and late night snack. Wine, beer and soft drinks during lunch and dinner are included; coffee, tea and pastries available 24 hours a day. Cruise fare does not include shore excursions or transfers to/from the ship (except where noted), port charges, meals ashore, gratuities, bar drinks, on-board laundry (limited), phone calls, e-mail, insurance, medical treatment or repatriation, or any other items of a personal nature.
SMOKING: Smoking is permitted only on open decks aboard Monet. No smoking is allowed in interior public rooms, cabins or hallways.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: All cancellations must be in writing to Elegant Cruises & Tours. Cancellations received from day of deposit to 90 days prior to departure are subject to an administrative fee of $200 per person. From 89 to 30 days prior to departure: 40% cruise rate. From 29 days prior to departure: 100% cruise rate. All cancellation fees are per person.
ITINERARY CHANGES & PRICE INCREASES: Itineraries are subject to change and may need to be altered or cancelled specifically because of weather conditions, availability, anchorages, political conditions and other factors beyond our control without consulting participants. Such decisions will be made in the best interest of all passengers aboard and with regard to the safety of the vessel. Participants have no right to any refund or other considerations in the event of such itinerary changes. Prices and/or itineraries shown in this brochure are subject to change with or without notice. ECT also reserves the right to impose reasonable fuel surcharges to passenger fare after reservation is made and before time of final payment.
RESPONSIBILITY: (Please read this important information carefully). The payment of a deposit of any part or full payment for a reservation on this tour shall constitute consent to all the provisions contained herein. ECT acts as a general sales agent for the vessel only. ECT, their subsidiaries and/or associated agents shall not be held responsible for property or damage and/or any damages resulting from illness, personal injuries or death which may be sustained by reason of, or while engaged on any tour, whether due to ownership, maintenance, use, operation or control of any aircraft, automobile, bicycle, boat, vehicle, hotel, common carrier, or any other conveyance used in carrying out these tours. ECT can assume no liability due to any cause whatsoever by failure or delay or other irregularity, acts or omissions occurring during a tour under which the means of transportation or other services provided thereby is offered or supplied by owners, operators or public operators for whom ECT acts only as an agent. ECT reserves the right (at their discretion) to alter or omit any part of the itinerary or change any reservation, feature and/or means of conveyance without notice and for any tour prior to departure, in which case payment will be refunded without further obligation on the part of ECT. The transportation companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not aboard their carriers or conveyances. The passenger contract in use by the carriers concerned shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies and the purchaser of these tours and/ or passage. By accepting the ticket the passenger certifies that he/she agrees to its terms and conditions. The passenger certifies that he/she does not have any mental, physical or other condition or disability, by the time of forwarding his/her deposit, that would create a hazard for him/herself or other passengers. ECT reserves the right to cancel or withdraw any person as a member of the tour at any time.
TRANSPORTATION BY TENDER: In most cases, the vessels will dock at a pier allowing passengers to disembark and embark via ship's gangway. Sometimes at the smaller ports the vessel will anchor and the ship's boats, Zodiac landing craft or local tenders will be used to transport passengers ashore.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: All passengers must have passports valid for six months following disembarkation and necessary visas when boarding. Citizens of the US, Canada, EU countries, Australia and New Zealand are allowed to enter Croatia without a visa for stays up to 90 days. U.S. citizens aboard positioning voyages between Europe and South America are required to obtain a Brazilian visa at additional expense before departure. Citizens of other countries are advised to check with their embassies or consulates for any visa requirements.
AIR TRANSPORTATION: Call us for international economy or business class airfare, we will gladly assist you in making your air arrangements.
The company will have no responsibility, financial or otherwise, in regard to air travel arrangements made by others including those related to the use of frequent flyer, non-refundable and other restricted travel tickets. This exclusion of liability by the company includes the consequences to independently arranged air travel that may result from last-minute changes in the embarkation and debarkation ports, cancellation of tours, and delays in arrival at the departure airport (see the contract of carriage for more details of these exclusions from liability). No airport transfers can be provided for passengers using independently arranged air travel. Any travel insurance policy should be checked in regard to its coverage of such independent air arrangements.
UNUSED FEATURES: Unused features of any cruise program are non-refundable. There are no refunds for included features not delivered due to weather and/or any other reason not controllable by the cruise line and/or its agents.
PHOTOGRAPHY ON CRUISE: ECT reserves the right to take photographs or videos during the operation of any cruise or part thereof, and to use the resulting images for promotional purposes. By booking a reservation with ECT, participants agree to allow their image to appear in such photographs; passengers who prefer that their picture not be used are asked to notify the cruise director at the beginning of their cruise.
ADVANCED, CANCELLED OR DELAYED SAILINGS: In the event of charter of the vessel, strikes, lockouts, riots or stoppage of labor from whatever cause or for any other reason whatsoever, the cruise line may at any time cancel, advance or postpone any scheduled sailing and may, but is not obliged to, substitute another vessel and shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever to passengers by reason of any such cancellation, advancement or postponement, except as otherwise provided in the Cruise Line's Passage Contract.
TRAVELLER’S INSURANCE: We highly recommend travellers insurance and Travelex Insurance Service for trip cancellation, medical treatments and/or evacuation.
