The M.V. Galapagos Explorer II is designed to provide both comfort and an in-depth educational interpretation for 100 guests visiting the Galapagos National Park. Built in 1990, with an overall length of 293 feet and 17-knot cruising speed, the M.V. Galapagos Explorer II is the most elegant of the vessels cruising Galapagos waters.
Facilities include: 50 suites, restaurant, boutique, reference library, lounge & bar, lecture room with full complement of audio/visual equipment, Jaccuzi, solarium, observation deck, 24-hour coffee & tea station, massage, satellite communications, three-channel television system in each suite.
Ship amenities & highlights:
- All-exterior suites, each with mini-bar, sitting area, ample closets, panoramic windows (except Magellan Deck, with portholes).
- "The Galapagos Explorer Guide," an exclusive guidebook delivered to each passenger along with the cruise documents.
- Six bilingual naturalists on board to accompany guests ashore, and provide interesting lectures, talks and discussions.
- Pre-Colombian artifacts and artwork in the ship’s gallery, thanks to cooperation with the Central Bank Museum of Ecuador.
- Passenger assistance in three local Airports: Quito, Guayaquil, San Cristobal Island and Baltra. Guaranteed space (at additional cost) aboard flight to Galapagos Islands with purchase of cruise ticket.
- Bilingual staff on board and at the airports.
- Two glass-bottomed boats. Passengers will have the opportunity to have an underwater experience, without diving or snorkeling.
- Scuba diving opportunities are available for divers with PADI license; additional costs apply.
