The Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia are among the last pristine destinations in the world. With its rocky islands and ever-changing panorama of beautiful sea ice, Antarctica is home to some of the Earth's most unique wildlife: a variety of seals such as Crabeater, Elephant, Fur and Leopard; tens of thousands of breeding penguins; Humpback, Minke and, last but not least, magnificent Orca Whales. In her previous life, the M.S. Andrea was a Norwegian Coastal vessel operating year-round to remote regions of the Norwegian coast, where freezing temperatures and sea ice are the norm.
