Their historic districts are a delight to explore on foot. From Klaipeda, travel to Lithuania’s capital of Vilnius, with 1,500 historic structures within its Old Town district.

The city of Visby on the Swedish island of Gotland has been inhabited for more than 7,000 years. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is filled with artifacts from the Viking and Middle Ages. In St. Petersburg, marvel at the collection in the Hermitage Museum and see for yourself why the city’s wide boulevards, manicured parks and neoclassical baroque buildings create an air of grandeur that is matched by few cities in the world.
